Sessions
Through a full resource library, specially equipped teaching kitchen and spacious classrooms we offer and host a myriad of educational programs. Join other survivors to get educated about cancer and cancer treatments or to take a fun break and get your mind off of it altogether. Get Creative:
All skill levels welcome in the following classes!
- Drawing: This class may offer you a creative outlet or provide you a new way to see the world. Join instructor Barbara Loftin, two-time cancer survivor, on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.
- China Painting: Join other survivors each Thursday morning at 10 :00 a.m. to talk, laugh, and create pretty pieces for you and your family to treasure.
- Pottery: Release some tension and let your creative juices flow as you mold clay in our professional pottery studio. Feel free to use this class to make a special memory with your kids and grandkids. Cheryl Perkins, ovarian cancer survivor, will help you learn all you need to make functional or artistic pieces.
- Children’s Class: Thursdays 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Adult Class: Thursdays 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Scrapbooking: Many survivors find it therapeutic to chronicle their life or survivor story through pictures. Join Cheryl Perkins on Thursdays at 2 p.m. All the tools and materials needed to constuct your scrapbook are here waiting for you.
- Knitting: Join the “KnitWits” on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. for a morning of sitting and knitting.
- Pink Ribbon Quilters: The Support House is filled with beautiful quilts created by this special group. Help add to the collection or work on projects of your own at noon on 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Get Fit
These classes are specifically designed for patients in active treatment or post-treatment. All classes are appropriate for beginners and help individuals regain strength, energy, and fitness.
- Exercise: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 3 p.m.
- Yoga: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.
- Tai Chi: Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m.
